Renting a car means receiving personal transport for a certain period of time, which the rental company continues to own. The purpose of renting can be different - business trips around the country and abroad, tourism, travel or moving. Renting implies its own rules or prohibitions in the field of operation. Usually they are spelled out in the rental agreement.
What you can't do with a rented car
Today, most companies that provide
car rental stipulate the following restrictions:
- You cannot use a rented car for the purpose of driving lessons - it is prohibited to grant the right to drive a car to a driver without driving experience. Violation of the rental agreement may entail certain penalties.
- Subletting the vehicle is also not allowed. All obligations for maintaining the integrity of the vehicle and its technical condition are imposed exclusively on the person with whom the rental agreement was concluded. Any transfer of the vehicle to a third party, including another driver, subletting, or providing the vehicle as collateral is strictly prohibited.
- Using the rented vehicle for private transportation - commercial activities (taxi) - is prohibited by the contract.
- During the operation of temporary personal transport, the lessee must not advertise goods or services on the vehicle. The appearance of the vehicle cannot be changed, including pasting and installing decorative and/or advertising products.
- Participation in various races and competitions is prohibited by current legislation. The rental vehicle must be used only in accordance with the contract.
- Independently towing other vehicles and installing any towing equipment on it is prohibited. The only exceptions are cases of agreeing on a specific situation with the car rental employees.
In what cases can they refuse to rent a car
If the driver is under 21 years old and has less than two years of driving experience, the lessor has the right, at its own discretion, not to provide car rental services. In addition, to conclude an agreement, a driver's license is required. As you can see, temporary rental of a vehicle involves a number of specific rules and obligations that must be followed so that the operation of the car is convenient and profitable for you.
