Probably the biggest disadvantage of car sharing is the restrictions provided by the zones of use. When you rent a car in a standard service, you follow clear instructions on where you can leave it later. Moreover, representative offices of such companies can be found in almost every city in Ukraine, which cannot be said about car sharing. This is a relatively young service that is only developing, and at the current stage, cars can only be rented for travel in certain zones, limited by the area closest to a particular city. If you are aiming for intercity trips, then car sharing in Ukraine cannot provide this yet. It is worth dwelling on the fact that in car sharing there are two unique terms: “vehicle use zones” and “car sharing start and end zones”. The first are territories limited by a large city where the car sharing service provider is located and adjacent areas. Here you can use the cars to the fullest extent, but without going beyond the limits previously agreed upon by the terms of the organization. For example, the route to Boryspil from Kyiv does not belong to the city, but is part of the adjacent territory - here you can use the car without fear of violating the rental conditions. The second are the places where you can start and end your route. That is, you will not be able to leave the vehicle wherever you please. The car sharing service clearly defines the limits where you can leave the vehicle and write off funds for its use. Note that the CATCAR company currently operates in Kherson and Nikolaev. Accordingly, when going to the south of Ukraine, you can always use the vehicle rental service if necessary.
