The rental car broke down. How to act in this case, and who should pay for it?

This can happen to any car. We try to minimize the possibility of such unpleasant situations by constant inspection and maintenance of our cars. The first thing you should do is report the incident to us, and we`ll be sure to proactively address the issue. If the breakdown occurred within our reach, specialists will arrive on time and do everything possible to quickly eliminate the problem. In the event that the problem is not solved on the spot, we give you a serviceable car and you can go about your business in peace while we deal with the repairs. After eliminating the defects, we will return the car to you. If you are in a place where our specialists are not available, you will need to visit the service center yourself. Be sure to keep the receipt from the service station or store and the report of the work performed — we will compensate you for all costs. Repair of the vehicle in full is paid by the lessor. If the damage occurred due to the lessee`s negligence, the lessor does not pay for repairs. For example:

  • you hit a pothole while driving: repairs in this case are paid for by the lessee;
  • you cut a wheel, bent a disc, a dent appeared - this materially falls on lessor`s shoulders;
  • you refueled with bad fuel, for example, not at the recommended gas stations, or you confused the type of fuel, as a result of which a breakdown occurred.
Do you drop off or pick up the car at the airport, train station or bus station?

Of course. This is an additional service that costs from 200-500 hryvnias depending on the city.

Do you deliver the car to a specific address?

Yes, but this is a paid service. The price is determined individually, depending on the place where the car needs to be delivered. In cities, a fixed price of 200-500 hryvnias applies. The cost may increase depending on the location of the service from which the car will be provided to you.

Is there a daily mileage limit when renting a car?

The daily mileage limit is 300 kilometers. The total limit is calculated according to the following scheme: the number of rental days is multiplied by 300 kilometers and the mileage limit is determined. What is above the limit is paid additionally for each km. mileage for 2 UAH for an economy class car, and 3 UAH for an average car, business class, SUVs.

That is, if you took a vehicle for 10 days - the total mileage limit is 3,000 kilometers, you drove 3,500 kilometers - you pay an additional 1,000-1,500 hryvnias for exceeding the limit.

How can I cancel a car rental reservation?

This should be done as soon as you realize that you no longer need the vehicle. There are several ways to cancel a car rental reservation:

  • contact the car rental manager at the phone number indicated on the website;

We want to return the car early - do we have to pay a penalty for this?

You need to inform the lessor about this no later than one day before returning the car. Car rental is recalculated according to the number of days you have driven, the difference is fully returned to the lessee.

How to extend the car rental period?

You need to notify us in any way convenient for you. After agreement, it will be necessary to make an additional payment for additional rental days at the rate indicated on the website:

  • in cash at one of the company`s 3 branches;
  • bank card;
  • through the site in the 'Payment' section;

additional payment when returning the car to the salon, provided that you extend the rental for a period of 3 days or more.

Is it possible to pick up a car after hours, when your service is not working?

Yes, but subject to prior agreement with the landlord and additional payment. If necessary, we work around the clock.

Can I drive a rented car outside the region?

Yes, if the route of your trip does not pass through roads with poor surface quality or off-road. You can find out the list of current and prohibited routes both in our office and by phone on our website.

Can I use the car rental service if I am not 22 years old or my driving experience is less than two years?

For such cases, we have a personal approach: an interview in our company or confirmation of your candidacy for the role of tenant by the company manager. In some cases, this significantly increases the possibility of a positive answer regarding the rental of a car by a person younger than 22 years old or with a driving experience of less than two years.

Why pay a deposit for renting a car?

The cost of the deposit depends on the car you have chosen for operation. On the website of our company, the information and price of the pledge are indicated separately for each model. A deposit is a necessary measure, without which it is impossible to rent a car in any car rental company.

I live in Crimea. Is your car rental service available to me?

Of course, on general terms. Crimea is Ukraine!

I am not from Ukraine. Can I rent a car from your company?

Yes. To do this, you need to have with you the original documents proving your identity, in order to conclude the agreement:

  • foreign passport;
  • ordinary passport;
  • driver`s license.
How are cars insured?
  1. All our cars have insurance from the OSTCPV policy (autocivilka) - this type of insurance pays full compensation to second and third parties in the event that you were at fault. This does not apply to the car you rented and the payment for its repair is not calculated. The lessee bears personal and full responsibility for damage to the car, which he took into temporary use.
  2. Also, in our car rental service, you can arrange full CASCO insurance for the period of car rental for a separate fee! The cost of insurance is from 100 to 200 UAH (except for the price of renting a car). CASCO insurance removes all financial responsibility for the car from the lessee in cases where the damage to the vehicle exceeds the value of the deposit. In order to fulfill all CASCO obligations, the lessee must correctly issue documents and cover letters.
What condition are your cars in? What are the guarantees that they do not break during rental?

Vehicles from the fleet are systematically inspected and serviced at our private service station. Before agreeing to rent a car, it is qualitatively checked in advance for technical condition. We constantly monitor the health of the chassis, wheels and general indicators of the car. Due to the unsatisfactory condition of the roads in Ukraine, all our cars are regularly sent for diagnostics and repairs!

How is the car returned to service?

The lessee returns the car after a comprehensive wash or additionally pays for this service for the car, which costs 200-350 hryvnias (the price is calculated depending on the car model). The process of returning the vehicle to the lessor also takes place using the act of acceptance and transfer. The car is inspected a second time, already for new damages that may have appeared during the operation of the car by the customer. If such damage is detected, the tenant additionally pays for repair services. Our company is as loyal as possible to such situations: the minimum market cost of repairs is charged to the tenant. We value every customer and do not make money this way.

How is the car handed over to the customer?

The manager of the CATCAR company and the lessee inspect the car: they note all the defects found on the diagram of the vehicle in the act of acceptance and transfer. The complete set of the car is also indicated there: a mechanism for lifting cargo, a key for installation work, a spare wheel, a stop sign for technical reasons, an anti-theft alarm system, transport documents (technical passport and insurance) and other items.

In addition, at the moment of handing over the car, the lessor takes photos of the car from different sides. This can also be done by the tenant. The car is given to the customer after a comprehensive wash, clean inside and out.
